Head Chef

Position Summary:

The Head Chef is the lead culinarian, responsible for all experiential activities related to the

culinary experience, as well as operational activities such as procurement, scheduling, hiring,

and proper resourcing of classrooms and kitchens. The Head Chef supervises all culinary

faculty and relevant staff and fosters the relationships and practices, internal and external, that

create and embrace the school’s culture and core values of Discover, Engage and Create. The

Head Chef is also a liaison between the institute, restaurant, tourism and all related business

operations and relevant external partners, facilitating an integrated experience across the GCI

for students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all culinary aspects of the institute including educational initiatives,

training, and curricula for each individual program, including hybrid educational

opportunities

• Major educator of students via lectures, experiences, classes and tourism programming

• Oversees culinary implementation for all GCI programs: flagship, tourist, enthusiast and

professional development

• Recruitment and management/supervision of culinary faculty and staff

• Establishes and maintains the philosophy and culture of the Institute to support its core

values

• Develops, implements and oversees methods, evaluation, assessments, and

competencies of courses and faculty, ensuring that all programs meet their objectives,

GCI core values, and the requirements of any relevant external entities

• Creates annual budgets, food cost control and monthly reporting system

• Coordination of all culinary learning experiences

• Works closely with all other departments to support marketing, partnerships, business

development and financial objectives

• Any other tasks directed by Management

Facilities & Maintenance Manager

Position Summary:

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and efficient operation

of the GCI campus facilities, including kitchens, classrooms, dormitories, offices, and outdoor

spaces. This role ensures compliance with all health, safety, and electrical standards, while

providing proactive and responsive facilities support for students, staff, and guests.

As a certified electrician, the Facilities Manager will also directly oversee electrical systems,

ensuring their safety, reliability, and compliance with Israeli regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance for all campus buildings, kitchens, AC

systems, plumbing etc.

• Oversee safety inspections, compliance with municipal and national regulations, and

maintain required documentation.

• Coordinate cleaning and campus upkeep services.

• Create SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and checklists for all area of expertise in

the filed of Maintenance and facilities management

• Electrical Systems (Certified Electrician Requirement):

o Perform electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades in compliance with Israeli

electrical codes.

o Ensure proper functioning of power supply to kitchens, classrooms, offices, and

dorms.

o Supervise contractors and vendors performing electrical or technical work on

campus.

o Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and troubleshoot issues effectively.

• Manage contracts and relationships with external service providers (e.g., construction,

security, equipment suppliers).

• Supervise renovation and infrastructure projects, ensuring quality and budget control.

• Negotiate service agreements and monitor contractor performance.

• Safety & Compliance:

o Enforce health and safety policies, including fire safety systems, emergency

exits, and electrical safety.

o Lead periodic safety drills and staff training.

o Maintain updated licenses, permits, and certifications required by local

authorities.

• Prepare annual facilities budget, track expenses and recommend cost-saving measures

and energy-efficient solutions.

• Plan long-term infrastructure upgrades and preventive maintenance schedules.

Special requirements:

Electrical Systems (relevant for Certified Electrician candidates):

o Perform electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades in compliance with Israeli

electrical codes.

o Ensure proper functioning of power supply to kitchens, classrooms, offices, and

dorms.

o Supervise contractors and vendors performing electrical or technical work on

campus.

o Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and troubleshoot issues effectively.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (4+ years) in facilities management, preferably in hospitality, or

culinary institutions.

• Certified Electrician License in Israel (preferred).

• Strong knowledge of building systems: electrical, AC, plumbing, and safety systems.

• Demonstrates project management and vendor supervision skills.

• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.

• Ability to work both hands-on and strategically, balancing technical work with

managerial oversight.

• Strong communication skills in Hebrew; English proficiency – an advantage.

• This is a full-time position on campus, including high availability and on-call for any

emergencies beyond working hours (including weekend and holiday on-call).

Director of Sales, Business Development & Marketing

Position Summary:  

The Director of Business Development, Sales & Marketing will lead the strategic growth and overall scheduling of GCI through the expansion of partnerships, business opportunities, tourism development and create revenue-generating initiatives. This role combines entrepreneurial vision with strategic marketing leadership, organizational skills — driving collaboration, sales, and brand positioning in the fields of tourist culinary education, hospitality, and tourism, all guided by clear KPIs. 

The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on operator who can identify and execute business opportunities, cultivate strong relationships, help develop point of sales platforms and translate GCI’s mission into measurable financial growth with a limited staff.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Business Development & Strategic Growth 

  • Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities including partnerships, culinary programs, events, tourism initiatives, tour operator relationships, and hospitality offerings, as well as develop scheduling and operations needs. 
  • Build strategic collaborations with corporate clients, educational institutions, culinary brands, and tourism operators to expand GCI’s visibility, reputation, income and impact. 
  • Lead initiatives that drive financial sustainability and long-term growth and use of point of sales and scheduling platform for the Institute through innovative, revenue-generating strategies. 
  • Represent GCI at industry forums, conferences, and events to promote the brand and cultivate new networks and partnerships. 
  • Report regularly to senior leadership on progress, opportunities, KPIs, and measurable business outcomes. 

2. Sales Leadership 

  • Design and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve enrollment, events, and partnership revenue goals. 
  • Develop and manage sales channels for GCI programs, culinary events, workshops, and facility rentals. 
  • Build and manage relationships with prospective partners, clients, and institutional collaborators, converting leads into long-term engagements. 
  • Establish and track performance metrics (KPIs) to evaluate sales effectiveness and monitor progress against growth targets. 
  • Collaborate closely with academic, operations, and hospitality teams to ensure a seamless, high-quality experience for clients, students, and guests from initial inquiry through program delivery 

3. Partnerships & External Relations 

  • Cultivate and manage partnerships with tourism bodies, culinary organizations, and regional stakeholders to strengthen GCI’s ecosystem. 
  • Develop co-branded initiatives that promote mutual value and broaden GCI’s exposure nationally and internationally. 
  • Support community engagement and local collaborations to integrate GCI into the regional fabric of the Galilee. 

4. Marketing, Branding & Communications 

  • Work in partnership with Jewish National Fund marketing platform on all aspects of marketing, branding, and public relations to ensure consistent positioning of GCI and Jewish National Fund as a premier global destination for culinary education and immersive food experiences. 
  • Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources.
  • Build and scale a comprehensive marketing infrastructure. 
  • Develop integrated marketing campaigns that effectively promote GCI’s programs, culinary offerings, hospitality experiences, and events to targeted audiences. 
  • Direct digital marketing, content development, and social media strategy to drive engagement, lead generation, and conversion across platforms. 
  • Manage external partners, agencies, and vendors, ensuring creative excellence, strong ROI, and alignment with broader sales and growth objectives. 
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and performance metrics to inform strategic decisions and optimize marketing effectiveness. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing — ideally within hospitality, culinary, education, or tourism sectors. 
  • Proven track record of identifying, negotiating, and executing strategic partnerships. 
  • Strong understanding of marketing and digital tools for lead generation and conversion. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; able to represent GCI professionally across diverse audiences. 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, and a passion for culinary innovation and education.
